Lamesa City Hall got a brand new wooden couch from Albert Vara’s woodworking shop students. The high school students offi cially donated the wooden sitting area for the city’s administrative offi ce Thursday morning. Lamesa High School graphic design teacher Lisa Telchik created the school logos burned into the bench’s back panel. A metal plate states the bench’s origins. City offi cials asked for a seating spot during the last school year. Students began work on the wooden bench until COVID-19 closed schools in March. They completed the task this school year.
