On the first day on the job Tuesday, newly hired Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce President Ashley Tidwell participated in a ribbon cutting of a new business and introduced herself to city officials and residents.Tidwell beat out nine other contenders for the job. The position opened in December when Karen Mize resigned to accept a position with B&B Roustabout.
