Brothers offer help to Uvalde

A trio of Lamesa brothers are helping with a statewide drive to collect backpacks for children in the Uvalde school system.Dawson County 4-H members Karson, Korbin and Kelton Schmidt are part of the Texas 4-H effort to collect 2,000 backpacks for students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade at Uvalde.“This is a great leadership project, and the Schmidt brothers are ready to make it happen for the kids in Uvalde,” said Nicole Singleton, local Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent and 4-H coordinator.Anyone wanting to donate backpacks may drop them off at the Extension office, 901B S.
