Lamesa school board members Thursday took an 18-member safety committee’s recommendation in spending $200,000 on NGS, a company providing protective film coverings for glass windows and doors with windows.The district is paying for the coverings from a state grant.The measure is another avenue the district is ensuring school facilities, students and school staff are safe from unwanted intruders.School districts across the state are implementing more protective measures in the wake of campus shootings.
