Local churches are once again teaming up to conduct the annual community Back-to-School Giveaway to assist local children. Like almost everything else during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, however, this year’s event will be somewhat different from those in the past. Scheduled for Aug. 8 from 8 a.m. until 12 noon at First Baptist Church, the 22nd annual giveaway will be conducted as a drive-up event, according to Paula Simco, one of the organizers.
