Judging from early voting and similar elections in the past, balloting is expected to be fairly light in Tuesday’s general election to decide the fate of eight proposed amendments to the Texas constitution.With only a couple of hours before the close of early voting on Friday only 77 early votes had been cast here in person, according to Dawson County Elections Administrator Ashley Barron.An addtional 24 mail-in ballots had been received as of Friday.“The turnout has been slow,” Barron said.By contrast, more than 2,440 people cast ballots during the early voting period prior to last year’s general election.The 2020 election ...
