Aguayo celebrates 50 years at South Plains Implement

Joe Aguayo doesn’t remember the exact date 50 years ago when he started working at South Plains Implement, a John Deere dealership, on Lubbock Hwy.He just knows it was around the Labor Day holiday. “It was after Labor Day weekend. I can’t remember back then; one day in September,” Aguayo said.He was a 17-year-old Lamesa High School student looking for a job after enrolling into Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) program.
