The second part of this past week saw the number of new COVID-19 cases in Dawson County exceed the number that were cleared. Information on South Plains Public Health District’s website late Friday evening show the county has now had a total of 143 confirmed cases of the virus since it arrived here in late March. More than two thirds of those have come in just the past six weeks since a resurgence of the virus developed in late June.
