The number of active COVID cases here has dropped off somewhat this past week.An update issued Wednesday evening by Zach Holbrooks, executive director of the South Plains Public Health District, showed 10 active cases of the virus among Dawson County.That is down from 16 active cases the previous week, which was the highest number of active cases here at one time since the middle of February.Only 14 active cases of COVID-19 were reported across the entire five-county district this past Wednesday, down from a total of 45 this past week.
