Twenty lucky families are getting a helping hand from local 4-H members with free Thanksgiving meals. Dawson County 4-H members are donating canned foods while the 4-H program is tasked with supplying the turkeys for local families who might otherwise go without a Thanksgiving meal. “We are collecting food, like Thanksgiving food,” said Nicole Singleton, Texas AgriLife Extension agent. “Twenty families are going to be blessed with a box of Thanksgiving goodies.” Each 4-H’er was assigned a traditional holiday food to collect.
