More than a quarter of a million dollars in non-budgeted purchases were approved by the Lamesa City Council on Tuesday night. But, due to the generosity of the local Weaver Foundation, less than $20,500 of that total actually will require the use of taxpayer dollars. Three separate donations by the Weaver Foundation, totaling $236,236.30, will fund the majority of those non-budgeted purchases.
