Carmen Furlow and Jay Porterfield were named as the Best Actress and Best Actor for 2018 at last Saturday’s annual LaCopa awards ceremony for Lamesa Community Players. Furlow was recognized for her portrayal of Georgia Dean Rudd in “Doublewide, Texas,” while Porterfield acted as Bertha Bumiller and Pearl Burras in “Greater Tuna.” Greta Miers, who was Big Ethyl Satterwhite in “Doublewide, Texas,” was named Best Supporting Actress.
