While a maintainer already was at work building a road on the property for Westwind of Lamesa, local officials and those working to develop the 80-unit apartment complex gathered for an official ground breaking ceremony this past Thursday morning. That housing development is scheduled for construction on 7.25 acres a short distance northeast of the intersection of N.E. 7th Street and Lynn Avenue.
