Lamesa High School graduate Kendra White followed in her maternal uncle’s footsteps when she was awarded the Dawson County Teen Court Scholarship in May. Her uncle, Jonathan Dyess, received the scholarship in 2002 during his senior year in high school. To qualify for the scholarship, students must volunteer 24 times as a Teen Court bailiff, clerk, jury member or attorney while attending sixth through 12th grades. “She has been extremely faithful and definitely earned the scholarship,” said Shelley Barron, local Teen Court director.
