One of the first things his staff requested when John Peterson took over as Lamesa’s police chief in June of last year was new uniforms.That request has now been fulfilled, as Lamesa Police Department personnel began wearing new uniforms – and new badges as well – this past Tuesday.The new, black uniforms include updated arm patches in blue and black, replacing the former patches that also included areas of yellow.Peterson said some of the old uniforms the officers had been wearing were blue, others were black.“They were pretty much a mis-match,” he said.Switching to new uniforms is part of an ...
