New retirees and active older adults can participate a new series, “Be Well, Live Well,” free of charge through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. The series, focusing on reducing the risk of disease and promoting healthy lifestyles, will be offered at First United Methodist Church at 10 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays on Sept. 1, 3, 8, 10 and 15. The series promotes independence through healthy aging for adults nearing or in early retirement. The informative sessions, conducted in a casual social atmosphere, will include self-assessment, information sharing, goal setting and a recipe demonstration.
