A long-running annual Lamesa social event, the big pancake supper, is now only a week away.The 71st edition of the supper is scheduled for next Saturday, Jan. 28, in the Lamesa High School cafeteria.Over 500 people normally come out in person to dine on all the pancakes, sausage and bacon they can eat, with many more grabbing takeout plates to take home.Pancakes will be served right off the grills beginning at 4:30 p.m. and continuing until 7:30.Musical entertainment will again be a part of the annual event, with Scott Miers and Leon Richter of the local band Common Ground expected ...
