Members of the Lamesa High School Class of 2020 (above) march into Tornado Stadium for their graduation ceremonies Friday evening. Originally scheduled for May 22, the event was postponed two weeks so that relaxed COVID-19 restrictions would allow for such a gathering under certain guidelines. The graduation cap of Victoria Yzaguirre (right) was adorned with several photos and the message, “I know you’d be here if... Heaven wasn’t so far away.”

On March 13, 2020 the Supreme Court of Texas and the Court of Criminal Appeals of Texas issued the First Emergency Order Regarding the COVID-19 State of Disaster. From that date through May 26, 2020, the Supreme Court of Texas has issued 16 additional Emergency Orders Regarding the COVID-19 State of Disaster.
