Big second and fourth quarters Friday evening helped the Golden Tornado basketball girls make it five straight in the win column with a 35-20 road victory at Friona. The Golden Tors, now 10-9 overall and 2-3 in District 3-3A, were up 5-3 at the end of the first quarter. Outscoring their hosts 11-2 in the second quarter, the Golden Tors led 16-5 at the half. Lamesa only put up seven points in the third quarter compared to Friona’s six. The Golden Tors outscored the Chieftains, 12-9, in the fourth quarter.
