The Lamesa Press-Reporter’s annual Football Contest got off to a strong start with four contestants opening up the year at 12-0 for the first week. Jordan Shofner gets this week’s top cash prize of $20 after going 12-0 and guessing 80 points on the tie-breaker which saw San Angelo Lake View hold off Lamesa, 38-30. Ruben Salinas picks up this week’s second place check of $15 after going 12-0 and guessing 55 points on the tie-breaker.
