Running toward state meet

Both the Borden County Coyotes and Sands Mustangs will be well-represented in Saturday’s UIL Class 1A State Cross Country Championships at Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park. Both Borden County and Sands will have entire teams competing in the two-mile race set to begin at 8:30 a.m. The Sands Mustangs also will be running in the boys’ state 5K which is set to crank up about 9 a.m. Borden County Coach Lindsey Schmidt is no stranger to the state meet.
