Walkers and runners interested in doing a 5K or one-mile race can line up in Forrest Park beginning at 8:15 p.m., Friday, July 2. The event begins at 8:30 p.m. at the starting line nea the park’s bathrooms. Lamesa Legacy Co-op, a homeschool co-op that meets at Crestview Baptist Church every Tuesday, is hosting the event. About 10- 15 families participate in the cooperative. “We do fundraisers to help pay for the rent of the building and insurance,” said Danielle McElwee, organizer.
