For the second year in a row, the Sands Mustangs basketball girls fell one game short of reaching one of their ultimate goals. Coach Ben Connell’s Mustangs were right on the verge of punching their ticket to the Region I-IA Tournament. Sands’ girls, however, are finished at 32-4 after losing a 27-24 nailbiter to New Home Tuesday night at Denver City.
