Fifteen Lamesa High School athletes opened their cross country season last Saturday in the Rust Busters competition hosted by Lubbock Christian University.“After almost a month of preparation, it was nice for our kids to run against other teams,” Golden Tor Coach Rose Mary McCall said.“I’m certainly pleased with the effort given by each of our young runners.”The meet was rather unique, as each athlete paired with another, running one and a half miles each and then repeating that for six miles.Lamesa’s team of Yenesi Guevara and Rica Enriquez finished 52nd out about 102 teams in the boys division.
