When Lamesa’s junior high football teams kick off their season Thursday at Lubbock Trinity it will mark the debut of Matt Hood as the new junior high boys athletic coordinator.Hood is the older brother of Golden Tornado head football coach Joseph Hood.“Joseph being here is huge in me being here, too. The last 20 years or so we’ve been talking about coaching football together,” Matt said.Matt’s wife Valerie teaches reading at North Elementary.
