Lamesa’s middle school basketball girls split their doubleheader at Friona Monday evening.The Golden Tors won the seventh grade A game, 18-11.“Shots didn’t seem to fall for either side,” Coach Kalli Bryan said. “Our tough defense was able to carry us to the win.”The Golden Tors lost the eighth grade A game, 16-14.“We were a little bit sluggish today. We couldn’t get any rhythm going,” Coach Liz Castro said.Lamesa’s seventh and eighth grade A teams will be in the Andrews Tournament starting at 4 p.m. Thursday when they’ll take on Andrews.
