Welcoming back six starters from a squad which went two rounds deep in the Class 4A softball playoffs a year ago, Coach Vanessa Hernandez felt before the season that her squad has an opportunity to be something special. Watching her sluggers in this past weekend’s First Pitch Classic at Lubbock only added to Hernandez’s hopes.
