Former superintendent honored by plaque

The game which brought him to Lamesa more than 50 years ago brought Rob Corn II back to town this past week.Corn, who lives in North Hollywood, Calif., was here earlier this week to deliver a plaque in remembrance of his grandfather, Joe Franklin Ashton, who served as course superintendent at the Lamesa Municipal Golf Course from 1970 to 1972.
