Borden County’s District 4-2A high softball opener on Tuesday at Hermleigh featured a match-up between two programs who have been this region’s representatives at the UIL Class 1A State Softball Tournament the past three times the tournament was held. Borden County made back-to-back trips to state in 2018 and 2019 while Hermleigh went to state in 2017. There wasn’t a state tournament last year due to COVID-19.
