Borden County’s boys won their first game but lost their second this past week in the big FiberMax Caprock Classic basketball tournament in Lubbock. The Coyotes opened play in the 32-team Double T Smiles Division of that tournament on Thursday morning with a 65-61 overtime win over Class 2A Vega. Borden County jumped out to a 32-20 lead in the first half but got outscored by the Longhorns 35-13 in the second half, leaving the score tied at 55-all at the end of regulation. The Coyotes outscored Vega 10-6 in the overtime period. Senior Zane Allen led Borden County in scoring with 22 points.
