Lamesa High School’s tennis team is heading to the playoffs this week but it will be a while before they can return to action on the school’s tennis courts.As of right now, the fencing is down and the netting has been removed in preparation for renovation work.The project has been at a standstill recently, however, as the crew hired to do the work is currently on another project.“We’re waiting for them to finish the job they’re on and come to ours,” said school superintendent Jim Knight. “It shouldn’t be long.”He expects work to start in the next couple of weeks.
