The annual meeting to organize Lamesa’s Cal Ripkin Baseball League for the coming season has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Forrest Park Community Center. Anyone interested in coaching or assisting with the league is encouraged to attend, said Rick Wallace, Cal Ripkin district director. Board members for the coming year also will be elected at that meeting. The Cal Ripkin Baseball League is open to all boys and girls from age four to 12. Player registration for the coming season will start on Feb. 1 at West Texas Graphics in Lamesa. ...
