Borden County head football coach Trey Richey already knew that he had something special in Ishmael Rodriguez a couple of years ago when the current Coyote freshman was in junior high.
Now the rest of the state is beginning to take notice of this young talent.
After helping the 11-3 Coyotes enjoy another successful season, Rodriguez was tabbed as the Texas Six-Man Coaches Association’s Division I Newcomer of the Year when it released its all-state football team.
