After they all had such strong campaigns a year ago, expectations already were pretty high in basketball this season for the Borden County Coyotes, Sands Mustangs and Klondike Cougars. With the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Association releasing its annual pre-season rankings this past week, those expectations might have become a little higher. Class 1A’s boys and girls basketball polls each include two teams from this area in the top 25. Among the boys, the Borden County Coyotes are seventh and Klondike Cougars 19th.
