Ralph Mires

    Memorial services for Ralph Mires will be held Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church with Daniel Reese officiating. 
    Private burial will be held at Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. 
    Ralph Mires, 81, of Lamesa, Texas gained his heavenly wings along with a completely restored body Monday July 15, 2019. He was surrounded by family.
     Ralph was born November 23, 1937 in Lamesa to Delbert and Sybile (Fraizer) Mires. He was the fifth child out of seven. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1956. Four years later, January 8th, 1960, he married the one true love of his life, Flossie. They went on to have one daughter, Terri, in 1961. 
    For 35 years Ralph owned and operated Punkin Center Gin. After selling the gin he and Flossie bought their ranch in Aquilla, Texas. They travelled back and forth until Flossie passed in 2004. Ralph then moved there permanently. That was his favorite place to be. He loved having one of his grandkids drive him through his cattle. 
    Ralph recently moved back to Lamesa and was able to spend more time with his friends and family in his final months. 
    Ralph is preceded in death by three brothers, Dwaine, Harold and Don; a sister, Glenda Harris; and his parents, Delbert and Sybile. 
    He is survived by his daughter, Terri and husband, Clint Flandermeyer of Lamesa; granddaughter Hannah Flandermeyer of Lubbock; grandson, Miles and wife Allie Flandermeyer of Lamesa; a brother, Roy, and wife, Cheila Mires of Keller; his sister, Leta Hatch of Plainview; and a host of nieces and nephews. 
    In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Cal Farley Boys Ranch, 600 SW 11th Avenue, Amarillo, Texas 79101.
