JULY 4TH ROYALTY
Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce offi cials recognized the seven youngsters who preregistered in the 2022 Mr and Miss Firecracker Pageant before the July 3 event had to be canceled. The pageant went on as planned after parent-volunteer Christina Assaf took over in the event’s organization. Chamber offi cials bestowed crowns and boxed gifts Friday morning to the original entrants to show their appreciation in the time and effort youngsters took in readying for the initial contest. Those initial contestants include: Lilly Assaf; Trinity Racca; Kamron Koehler; Ysabelle Rose Reynolds, held by grandmother Melody Gonzales; Ramiro Rosales IV, held by Madison Casillas; and Abel C. Guzman, held by Alexandra Guzman. Another candidate, Harzel Jade Rodriquez, was not able to attend the Chamber’s gift presentation. LPR photo
