After getting their first match win of the season here last weekend against the Class 4A Lakeview Chiefs the Golden Tor tennis squad was hoping to get its first district win here this past Tuesday against Levelland.
As proud as Lamesa Coach Skye Torres already is of the steps which her much improved squad has made this season she believes the best way to get those strides to continue is by challenging them with tough competition.
They’re still over a month away from the start of district play but the Klondike Cougar volleyballers are already seeing a payoff from playing a tough non-district schedule.
Lamesa’s junior high volleyballers opened their seasons on a strong note last Thursday evening at Brownfi eld by winning three out of their four matches against the Cubs.
Mario Dimas is quick to admit that staying at the top in the weekly Wednesday golf scrambles seems to keep getting tougher from year to year but his team once again found a way to do so this sunmer.
