Dawson High School’s 2023-2024 FFA officers were recently announced. They are President- Briana Rosales, Vice President- Jason Roderiguez, Secretary- Anahi Gonzalez, Treasurer- J’lynn Antu, Reporter- Roman Trevino, Sentinel- Ariella Roderiguez, Historian- Jordan Antu, and Student Advisor- David Moreno. Ag teacher Rusty Oaks is Dawson FFA advisor.

Volunteers raised the funds through an Aug. 18 sale of pulled pork sandwiches, complete with chips, a drink and cookies, for $10 per meal. The funds will be used by the senior citizens center for its Meals on Wheels program and other expenses.

Monday was the 22th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers, the Pentagon and hijackers’ attempts to divert a commercial plane into the national capitol in Washington, D.C. Three thousand workers, passengers on four hijacked planes and first responders died in the attack or after the Twin Towers collapsed in Lower Manhattan in New York City.
