Ygnacia Olivan

    Ygnacia Cazares Olivan age 92, was called to eternal rest by our Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 18, 2022 surrounded by her family.
    On September 11, 1930 Ygnacia was born to Jose and Andrea Cazares in Karnes City, Texas. She married Fabian H. Olivan on January 4, 1948 in Lacoste, Texas.
    Ygnacia, or like she was known to all as “Ama,” was a funny, loving, spiritual, caring mentor to all. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, godmother, and friend to all she met. Ama enjoyed life to the fullest. Ama was always there when we needed her and was loved by all. She loved music, dancing and any and all family gatherings. She was the anchor that held our family together. Ama loved to pray daily, sew and cook at any given time. Ama will be remembered as a matriarch of a God-loving family.
    Survivors include her children: Sylvia Olivan of O’Donnell, Texas, Susana O. Garcia of O’Donnell, Texas, Rosalinda Rosales (Ramiro Sr.) of O’Donnell, Texas, Mary Berumen (Joe Sr.) of Lubbock, Texas, Patricia O. Castillo of Amarillo, Texas, John Olivan (Suzanne) of Arlington, Texas, Albert Olivan (Sandra) of Stephenville, Texas, Randy Olivan and Chris Olivan, both of O’Donnell, Texas; 26 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She also is survived by her siblings, Juanita Garza, Juan Cazares, Mary Rios, and Henry Cazares.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Andrea Cazares; her husband, Fabian H. Olivan; her daughter, Maria Alicia Olivan; and siblings, Guadalupe Montero, Jose Cazares, Dipolo Cazares, Lucia Pena, and Angelita Cano.
    The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Calvert Home Health and Hospice of Lubbock, Texas, and B&I DME of Plainview, Texas.
    Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home. The family will gather to recite the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at St. Pius Catholic Church in O’Donnell, Texas. 
    The funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022 at St. Pius Catholic Church in O’Donnell, Texas with Father John Steven Rathinam officiating.  Burial committal will follow to the O’Donnell Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
