Tony Aguilar

    A Catholic funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Antonio (Tony) Aguilar, age 60, of Lamesa, TX., at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Jose De Dios Gonzalez officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. 
    Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with Rosary prayer services at 7:00 p.m., at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Tony passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Lamesa. 
    He was born on May 2, 1961 in Lamesa.
    Tony was preceded in death by his son, Antonio (Tony) Aguilar, Jr.; parents, Juan Aguilar, Jr. and Isabel Aguilar; his brothers, Juan Aguilar, Jr., Baltazar Aguilar, Lupe Aguilar, Jose Aguilar
    The time that Tony lived in Lubbock, he worked as a custodian at a Lubbock hospital and a bank. His favorite hobbies were music and playing his drums. Tony was a devoted Catholic his entire life. 
    Tony is survived by his son, Jose Aguilar of Lubbock; his brothers, Ramon Aguilar, Amador Aguilar, and Luis Aguilar, all of Lamesa, and Reynaldo Aguilar of Lubbock; his sisters, Margarita A. Ortega, Maria A. Vara, Anita Portillo, and Susie Aguilar, all of Lamesa; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, and numerous relatives and friends. 
    Honoring Antonio (Tony) Aguilar as his pallbearers are, Ray Aguilar, Jr., Joseph Aguilar, Martin Romero, Lupe De La Fuente, Ramon Ortiz, Joe Louis Aguilar.
