Susie passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, in Lamesa, Texas surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born August 8, 1924 in Lockhart, Texas to Prospero Balandran and Enes (Alvarez) Balandran. She was a devout Catholic member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Susie worked many years at Dotty Dan and then worked in housekeeping for Medical Arts Hospital before retiring. Then to continue to make ends meet she worked way into her eighties with light duty housekeeping.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and could spend hours on the phone.  She loved watching Laura, Caso Cerrado and Walker Texas Ranger. In her daily morning routine, she prayed for all her family members. Believe it or not…her prayers were always answered. No one was safe from a secret without it getting back to her, due to a little birdie she knew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Trinidad Medrano, and her second husband Francisco Garcia; brother, Enes Balandran; sisters, Refugia Mendez, Francisca Palacios, Victoria Balandran, Margarita Navarro, and Fermana Coy; grandchildren, Donell Cardona, Ricardo Cardona, Marcia Zapata and Brandon Barger.
Susie is survived by her children, Sisto Medrano and wife, Maria of Midland, Dominga Cardona of Lamesa, Juanita Zapata of Lamesa, Elisa Vasquez-Edwards of Lamesa and Sophia Gomez of Odessa; 22 grandchildren, lots of great grandchildren, too many to count; great great-grandchildren, and five great-great-great grandchildren.
Family suggests donations to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 908 S. 2nd St. Lamesa, Texas 79331.
