Sue Caldwell

    A private celebration of life for Sue will be held on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 at Dawson County Cemetery with  Pastor Gwen Aldridge presiding.  Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home.
    Wanda Sue Caldwell was born on January 29, 1936, in Mason, Texas to W.C. (Pinkie) and Gladys Willmann.
Sue graduated from Odessa High School in 1953, and attended Southwest Texas State in San Marcos.  She married Bob Oates on February 5, 1959 in Odessa.  She and Bob owned and operated Lamesa Tire and Battery for many years, until Bob passed away on November 3, 1968. She later married Jim Caldwell on November 25, 1970.
    Jim passed away on March 21, 1993.  Sue, Christy and Lisa purchased McCall’s Gift Shop in 1994. Sue enjoyed 25 years of serving the community and assisting her customers.  She enjoyed all sports, cooking and enjoying her family.
    Sue is survived by her children, Cindy (Greg) West of Mansfield, Christy (Randy) Lambright and Lisa (Stan) Brown, both of Lamesa, and Mark (Wendy) Oates of Woodward, Ok.  Sue was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Aaron Brown and Sandra Alonzo, Julie Howard and Billy Carter, Lynzee (DeLario)Bolton, Chad (Lindsey) Oates and Garrett (Kaylee) Oates; and 8 great-grandchildren. Sue is survived by her sister-in-law, Sherry Willmann of Mason, and numerous nieces and nephews.  
    She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Doug Willmann of Mason.  
    A very special thank you and all our love to Nanny’s special friend and caregiver, Yolanda Vidal and family.
