Shanan Lynn White

Shanan Lynn White, 48, of Lamesa, Texas, was beautifully reunited with her son Jayder in Heaven on September 10th 2023. Shanan was born on March 21st 1975 to Monty and Vickie Wilkerson and was one of three children from Lamesa, Texas.
She met her husband at age 12, and together they shared 21 beautiful years of marriage, four loving children and two lively grandsons; all of which made up her whole world.
Additionally, Shanan spent 22 years working with the USDA Farm Service Agency as a Program Technician, where she passionately looked after her farmers in the local area, hoping for a year of plentiful rain.
Shanan was a devoted wife, mother, and “Granny Shanny” who always made sure her family had what they needed. There is nothing in this world she loved more than cheering on and supporting her children in whatever sport or activity they had going on, especially basketball. And she wasn’t simply watching her kids’ games, she was bringing life to the stands, bringing fans together with her humor, narration of the game, and the pure joy for the sport.
Shanan was a loyal and kind friend to all and had the ability of bringing people together from all walks of life. She never failed to make everyone feel heard, loved, and appreciated. Her love for those in her life was fierce and unconditional. She was a fighter and showcased her strength with a smile on her face. Her strength, her kindness for all, and her grace will shine through her girls, her son, grandchildren, and husband. Her presence was a beacon of light in this community and she will truly be missed.
Shanan is survived by Cody White, loyal husband of 21 years, daughters Kenzie and Taytum White, son Alec Cates and wife Antoinette Cates and their children Cole and Jeremiah Cates, parents Monty and Vickie Wilkerson, brother Kenny David Wilkerson, sister Kristin Keeling and husband Jody Keeling and their children Blaine Moore and Katie Moore.
