    Santiago (James) Luna

Santiago (James) Domingo Luna

October 21, 1956 - May 14, 2019

Santiago (James) Luna, 62, of McKinney, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
He was born on October 21, 1956 in Lamesa, Texas to Ricardo Beltran Luna and David Hernandez Luna. It was James’ upbringing on a farm with his 11 siblings that set him on a path of service and family-first values. At the age of 18 he began his career with Furr’s Supermarkets. He married his one love, Teresa Smith Luna, on July 22, 1978. They transferred to Roswell, New Mexico in 1984 where they lived for 17 years and raised three wonderful children.
There was no shortage of love when it came to his family, friends and even strangers. James set fourth an example of kindness and warmth that radiated from his infectious grin and laughter. And you can bet if you were around James there was laughter. He had a wonderful sense of perfectly timed humor and pranks. Along with his love of family time and playful antics as a Grandad, James enjoyed playing golf and watching his Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
After his career in Supermarket management James grew his work family and became a Corporate Trainer with Home Care Providers of Texas where he worked until the time of his death. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to our HCPofTx family for their love and support through this battle.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Palonio Luna, Antonio Luna Sr. and Crestin Luna Sr.; and his sister, Gregoria Guzman.
