Rubina Luna

    Catholic funeral graveside services for Rubina Luna, age 77, of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Dawson County Cemetery with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. 
    Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. Please join the family at the cemetery.
    On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, Rubina Luna age 77 of Lamesa passed away surrounded by her loving family.
    She was born on April 21, 1944 in Lamesa, TX. , and lived on the farm before the family moved to the Lenorah area and she worked on the farm along with her siblings for many years.
    Upon the death of her father, Rubina and the rest of the family moved into the Lamesa area. She was a seamstress at “Dotty Dan Factory.” After working with United Super Market, Rubina retired to care for her mother. 
    She was a faithful servant to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. It was upbringing in the Catholic faith that family values came first. She was a people person, shy at first, but a friendly individual that drew co-workers and friends toward her.
    Rubin loved working outside in the yard, if you passed early in the morning, you would see her hard at work. Always washing her car and any vehicles around. Could not stand seeing a dirty car. There was never a shortage of love for her nephews and nieces, and she spoiled them whenever she could. She was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Tech Red Raider, and professional sports.
    She is preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and David Luna; her brothers, Antonio Luna, Sr., Crespin Luna, and James Luna; her sisters, Joyce Guzman, and Margaret Navarro.
    She will be remembered by her brothers and sisters, John Luna and Gloria of Lamesa, TX., Mingo Luna and Mary of San Antonio, TX., and Julian Luna of Odessa, TX.; her sisters, Delfina Luna, and Augustine Garza, both of Lamesa, TX., and Louisa Martinez and Robert of Wylie, Texas; her sister-in-law, Teresa Luna of McKinney, TX.; and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
