Robert Dimas

    A Catholic Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Robert Dimas age 65 of Lamesa, TX. at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, February 3, 2025, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Sylvester D’Suaza officiating. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral
arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
    The viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with Rosary prayer services at 7:00 p.m. on both nights at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Robert passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. He was born on June 4, 1959, in Lamesa, TX. Robert married Leticia Perez on May 17, 1980, in Lamesa, TX. They were married 44 years.
    Robert was preceded in death by father, Adelaido Dimas, his nephew, Victor Dimas, Jr.
    Robert was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and a friend to all who knew him.
    Robert was a lifelong member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church where he served as a passed CYO director with Leticia, and played his guitar in the church choir. He was a former board member of the Lamesa Boys and Girls Club, Little League Baseball, Lamesa Girl’s softball association; coached various sports activities; he was a very well-known and respected umpire and referee for many years for the community of Lamesa and the surrounding area, was a former member of the Permian Basin Basketball
Officials Association. Robert had a passion for playing Baseball, Softball, and Golf. Robert also ran the Men’s and Coed Softball leagues for many years. He was an avid sports fan of Texas Tech, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Texas Rangers. Robert worked for 30 years at the Lamesa Press-Reporter, moved on to Britt Trucking for 10 years, and his final employer was with the City of Lamesa as Recreational Director. Mr. Robert Dimas was charismatic, and a true gentleman.
    Robert is survived by a loving family, his wife, Judge Leticia Dimas of Lamesa, TX.; his son, Joseph Dimas of Lamesa, TX.; his daughter, Mayda Dimas of Lamesa, TX.; his mother, Rosa Dimas of Lamesa, TX.; his granddaughters, Aveah Dimas of Amarillo, TX., Lilliana Morales, Maddie Morales, and Zyanna Morales, of Lamesa, TX., and Cecilia Martinez of Odessa, TX.; his grandson, Phillip Saul Morales of Lamesa, TX.; his
sisters, Gloria Garcia of Lamesa, TX., Sally Luna of Lubbock, TX., Delia Martinez (Manuel) of Lamesa, TX., and Margie Villalobos (Henry) of Lamesa, TX.; his brothers, Victor Dimas (Sylvia) of Lamesa, TX., Joe Dimas (Elida) of Lamesa, TX., Mario Dimas (Velinda) of Lamesa, TX., and Richard Dimas of Lubbock, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
