Robert Coleman Hunt II departed from this life on Friday, December 9th, 2022 in Lamesa.
Cole was born on May 6th, 1965 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was specially chosen by Robert (Bob) & Janie Hunt when he was only two months old. Cole grew up on the family farm in Ackerly, Texas where he attended school at Sands ISD and graduated in 1983. He attended Texas Tech until he moved back to Ackerly to farm, which he did for many years.
Cole loved his three children more than anything in the world, and he treasured every minute with them. From an early age, he got them involved in 4H and FFA.
In 2012, he met Maria Jimenez by happenstance, and they married on September 18, 2015. Cole always said it was fate that brought them together. His lifelong dream was to live on the beach, and he and Maria brought that dream to fruition when they moved to Mexico in 2016. He enjoyed traveling back to Texas to visit his children and grandchildren every chance he could.
Cole’s heart was as big as Texas. He was passionate about his family, lived life to the fullest, and loved making people laugh. Every year, he would volunteer at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, he loved watching Yellowstone, and he’d watch every football game he could. Cole loved music, going to the “picture show” as he called it, and playing craps in Vegas. His smile and Texas drawl would light up a room, and he will be sorely missed by all who loved him.
Cole was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ray Hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Hunt; mom, Janie Hunt of Big Spring; daughters, Hannah Bullard and husband Cody of Post, Meghan Hunt of Lubbock; son, Robert (Bo) Hunt of Midland; step-children, Judy Tejeda-Gonzales and husband Robert of Lubbock, Natalie Tejeda of Lubbock, Adam Tejeda of Monroe, Louisiana, Kristian Tejeda of Tecoman, Colima, Mexico; and 6 grandchildren, Kyndall Bullard, Jagger Tejeda, Damien Gutierrez, Mia Tejeda, Logan Gonzales, and Grayson Gonzales. He is also survived by his sisters, Carla Coupland of Tow, Jill Tubb of Big Spring, and Kaye Glaeser of Marble Falls, as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
