Rene N. Rodriguez

    Rene N. Rodriguez (Froggy) 62 of Midland, TX, passed away surrounded by his loving family March 29th 2024. Rene was born in Laredo, TX on February 21, 1962 to the late Tomas and Francisca Rodriguez. 
    He married his high school sweetheart Leticia Sciaraffa in 1982. Right after they moved to Midland to start a family, he worked for the City of Midland for 26 years in the solid waste department before retiring. 
    He never met a stranger that he did not enjoy talking to. He enjoyed playing softball, but mostly he loved watching his daughters play and later watching his grandchildren play. He would light up when his grandchildren came into the room. He was a big Tennessee Titan and Houston Astros fan. 
    He is preceded in death by his parents Tomas and Francisca Rodriguez and a brother, Raul Rodriguez.  
    Visitation and viewing will be on Wednesday April 3,2024 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. Prayer service will be at 5:30 p.m. with Pastor David Natividad and a Catholic rosary at 7 p.m. with Armando Bonilla.  Viewing on Thursday April 4, 2024 will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Shrine. A burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
    He is survived by his wife Leticia Rodriguez of 41 years, three daughters Annette (Roy) Glasscock, Lora (Joe) Gomez of Lamesa, TX, and Amanda Rodriguez (Jose Varela); four grandchildren Xavier, Violet, Jazelle and Joe Jr.; two brothers Roy (Corina) Rodriguez of Odessa, TX and Robert (Priscilla) Rodriguez; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. 
    Our family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to our family and friends for their constant prayers and support during this difficult time. A special THANK YOU to DR. Juan C. Gil, Dr. John Mathewson, Dr. Mamoun Brashir, Fresenius kidney center and the medical staff of Midland Memorial Hospital.
