Pamela Anthony

Pamela Karen Anthony, 72, of Midland, Texas, passed away March 24, 2021 into the loving arms of her heavenly Savior after a lengthy illness that she bravely fought for several years.
She was born on July 15, 1948, to Evelyn and J. T. Newton.  On December 12, 1964, she married Denver Dean Anthony in Lamesa.
After settling in Midland, Pam and Dean shared a special and unique bond and union of marriage for over 56 years.  Pam was and always will be the center of Dean’s universe.  He adored her.  She was the beat of his heart and the love of his life.  Pam loved the sunshine, and to her son and daughter she was their sunshine.
Pam decided on a career in cosmetology and became a very proud and reliable hair stylist and salon owner.  She was a true natural at cutting hair.  She had a very exclusive opportunity to be the co-owner of a local Midland salon, One Mane Place, with her sister and best friend, Vicki Crawford, with whom she shared a deep connection.  Over the years she developed many faithful, devoted customers as well as employees, until the time of her retirement in 2014.
Pam was beautiful inside and outside.  She had a heart of gold that shined as bright as her beautiful trademark blond hair and green eyes.  She had a personality that was infectious and a gentle spirit that asked little and loved much.
Pam leaves a legacy of being an amazing wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend to many.
Left to cherish her life and its lasting impact is her husband Dean of Midland; her mother, Jonelle Newton, of Lamesa; her son Darren Anthony of Midland; and her daughter Karen Baker and her husband Zeke of Midland.  She also leaves behind five grandchildren who affectionately knew her as “Bombie”: Payne Anthony and his wife November, Lane Anthony, Dax Riley and his wife Katie and soon to be child, all of Midland, SR Jantzen Baker, U.S. Navy, of Great Lakes, Illinois, and her one and only devoted granddaughter, Krozbi Baker, of Midland.  Also surviving Pam are her brothers Benny Flowers and his wife Connie of Lamesa, William Newton and his wife Lasan of San Antonio, and James Newton of Midland; and two sisters, Cassandra Freeman of Lamesa, and Vicki Crawford and her husband Frank of Midland; as well as her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Virginia Todd of Lamesa.  Pam was loved by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Pam in death was her dad, J. T. Newton; her maternal grandparents Myrtle and Lillard Thomas; and a nephew, Charles (Chuck) Freeman, Jr.
The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 9:00 a.m- 2:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home in Midland, 2508 N. Big Spring Street.
