Owell Jeffcoat

    Funeral service for James Owell Jeffcoat, 88, of Lamesa will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m at Second Baptist Church with Pastor Tobey Clements officiating. 
    Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery. 
    Visitation will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
    Owell passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Lamesa, Texas.  
    He was born October 30, 1932 in Knox City, Texas to James Edward and Birdie Belle Hendon Jeffcoat Parker. He married Myrtle Davis June 23, 1955 in Lovington, N.M.
    Owell was a hard working farmer who also loved flying with the civil air patrol. He liked motorcycles, was a Ham Radio operator, loved to fish, play dominos, play 42, play the piano and would occasionally strum a banjo.
    He is survived by his wife Myrtle of Lamesa; daughter, Linda Small and husband Craig of Lamesa; son, Jim Jeffcoat and wife Sheila of McAllen; daughter-in-law Arla Jeffcoat of Lamesa; four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
    He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Eddie Wayne Jeffcoat, and sister, Alice Marlene Sparrow.
